Week 7 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Chargers RB Kimani Vidal and More (2025)

Attention fantasy football enthusiasts! As we approach Week 7, it's time to strategize and make some crucial roster moves. Let's dive into the waiver wire targets that could give your team the edge it needs.

The Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Unlocking Hidden Gems

In the ever-evolving world of fantasy football, staying ahead of the curve is crucial. With Week 6 drawing to a close, it's time to look ahead and identify the players who can bolster your roster. This week, we're focusing on some under-the-radar talents who could be the difference-makers you've been searching for.

But here's where it gets controversial... not all leagues are created equal! If your league operates like mine, you'll be placing your waiver claims on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. This third bye week of the year, with the Bills and Ravens taking a break, makes the waiver wire even more crucial. You'll need to fill some gaps, and these players might just be the perfect fit.

Let's get straight to the 10 must-have players (and some notable others) you should be targeting right now!

Note: Ownership percentages are based on Sleeper data. We won't be mentioning players rostered in over 60% of leagues. The players are listed in order of their ownership numbers.

Kendrick Bourne, Wide Receiver, 49ers (51% Ownership): Bourne has been on fire, channeling his inner Jerry Rice for the past two weeks. He caught five passes for a whopping 142 yards in a tough loss to the Buccaneers. Mac Jones keeps targeting Bourne, and with Ricky Pearsall and George Kittle out, Bourne is a must-have. He faces Atlanta in Week 7, so get him on your roster!

Sam Darnold, Quarterback, Seahawks (51% Ownership): Darnold has been solid, scoring over 20 fantasy points in two consecutive games. He's consistently delivered, with 16+ points in four straight weeks. Despite a tough matchup against the Texans, Darnold is a viable waiver wire option.

Harold Fannin Jr., Tight End, Browns (50% Ownership): Fannin Jr. had a breakout game against the Steelers, with 10 targets and seven receptions for 81 yards. Rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel has a thing for his tight ends, and Fannin Jr. could become a regular starter. Especially if David Njoku's knee issues persist or he's traded, Fannin Jr. could be a fantasy starter.

Josh Downs, Wide Receiver, Colts (49% Ownership): Downs is one of my top picks for wide receiver streamers this week. He impressed against the Cardinals, leading the Colts' wideouts with seven targets and a touchdown. He's scored over 11 points in three of his last five games, so he deserves a spot on more rosters for Week 7.

Evan Engram, Tight End, Broncos (47% Ownership): Tight end positions are a mess, but Engram offers some relief. He's seen at least six targets in three straight games under coach Sean Payton, who's making good use of his tight end. Engram has scored over 9.9 points in his last two games, and with a revenge game against the Giants coming up, he's a player to watch.

Jaxson Dart, Quarterback, Giants (46% Ownership): It's surprising that Dart isn't owned in more leagues. He's scored over 19 points in two of his first three starts, including a big win over the Eagles. Dart's rushing ability adds a whole new dimension to his fantasy value. He's looking like a matchup-based starter, so don't sleep on him!

Kimani Vidal, Running Back, Chargers (45% Ownership): Despite some confusion, it was Vidal, not Hassan Haskins, who started and dominated the touches in the first game without Omarion Hampton. Vidal delivered, rushing for 124 yards and a touchdown against the Dolphins. With Hampton potentially out for a while, Vidal is a must-add player.

Trevor Lawrence, Quarterback, Jaguars (39% Ownership): Lawrence had a solid Week 6, throwing for two touchdowns and 258 yards against the Seahawks. He's recorded over 19 points in two straight games, so he's becoming a reliable starter, especially during bye weeks. Lawrence faces the Rams in London in Week 7, so keep an eye on him.

Bam Knight, Running Back, Cardinals (19% Ownership): Fantasy football can be cruel sometimes! After Michael Carter's impressive performance, the Cardinals decided to mix things up with Knight. He had a similar number of touches and even saw a red-zone opportunity. Knight is definitely worth rostering.

Michael Mayer, Tight End, Raiders (5% Ownership): Mayer stepped up with Brock Bowers out, catching five passes for 50 yards and a touchdown against the Titans. Geno Smith seems to have found a reliable target in Mayer, who could be a fantasy starter until Bowers returns.

Remember, these players could be the key to your fantasy success. Don't miss out on these hidden gems!
